GUIDE FOR BOTTLE ENTRIES

In Transit:

All wine bottles are to have corks tied down or have shrink caps fitted.

Beer, Ale, Lager & Stout Entries:

Clean brown ABC type 750ml bottles with plain crown caps.

Fill level: 30mm from top of bottle, plus or minus 10mm.

Still Wine Entries:

Clean, clear, colourless glass bottles of approx. 750ml capacity, with rounded, not sloping shoulders. Straight necked without screw type tops. Flanged corks, plastic stoppers not allowed.

Fill level: 20mm from bottom of cork, plus or minus 10mm.

Sparkling Wine Entries:

Clean conventional 750ml sparkling wine bottles with fully punted bottoms, a minimum empty weight of 800 grams and without screw type tops. Stoppers should be ribbed plastic Champagne type and secured with a wired cage (muselet).

Fill level: 70mm from top of bottle, plus or minus 10mm.

Liqueur Entries:

Clean, clear, colourless glass bottles of approx. 375ml capacity, with rounded, not sloping shoulders and straight necked without screw type tops. Flanged corks.

Fill level: 20mm from bottom of stopper, plus or minus 10mm.

Labels:

Small tag approxamitly Business-Card size, with Entrants Name, Club Name, Class Number and Class Description, Ingredient (optional), Year (optional), with allocated club coloured stickers, firmly affixed to bottles with new rubber bands.

Note:

The addition of sugar or artificial sweetener to a wine shall not be used to enter it into a different or subsequent class.
